Whatever you feel comfortable in! You'll find people in t-shirts and people in sport jackets (and everything in between), so don't worry about it and come as you are.
What do you mean by "Baptist"?
Our first call and priority is to be Christian. We seek to partner with God's people [the Church in all of its beautiful expressions] to be a part of God's redeeming work in the world.
The word "Baptist" brings up a lot of different images for people. Many of those images are negative (understandably so). One of the inherent difficulties is that no one Baptist church or entity has a monopoly on the word, because Baptist churches have historically been autonomous, local congregations. We still call ourselves "Baptist" because it is the tradition we have been born out of, and we still identify with core, historic Baptist principles. Our Baptist identity resides in these "Four Fragile Freedoms":
- Bible Freedom
- Soul Freedom
- Church Freedom
- Religious Freedom
Out of these core principles we look to partner with various groups [Baptist and otherwise] as best we can to further the work of God.
Churches similar to ours sometimes refer to themselves as "a different kind of Baptist." We like to invite others to "reimagine what it means to be Baptist."
What about ___________?
